While away in Sydney last weekend I was lucky enough to go to a screening of Black Swan. I was left reeling. It was one of the greatest cinematic experiences I've ever had. The entirety of the film was startling, breathtaking, disturbing, graceful. The combination of madness mixed with reality, and the translation of it on screen, threw the film into a new level of originality. The cinematography was isolating, and enabled the viewers to be thrown into the world with the characters portrayed, while an absolutely stunning score fitted in the background, like a glove. The film becomes even more impressive once one realises what strides the actors took to fit their rolls. I have nothing but the highest of regards for this film, and would gladly see it again.
